Editing of music videos

The Man who cant be moved - The Script

In the video the man who cant be moved the pace of the editing is calm and slow while following Danny the lead singer around while he is waiting for the girl he loves. The music video is a narrative base video. Long shots of him are used to show the scene around him and what he is doing, there are also close up shots shown when he is walking, just his head is dominant in the video, the more close ups of the lead singer the better because close ups are in demand in the music industry.
Half way through the music video, the band are seen performing, close ups of each band member are shown, this puts emphasis on the artist or bands face for promotional reason.
A pan shot is used to follow the movement of the lead singer on his journey, making the video seem more realistic and make the viewers feel like there walking with the band member too.
The pace of the editing throughout this song is always in sync with the beat of the track.

Barney Rubble- The Twang

In the video Barney Rubbles by The Twang the camera movement in editing uses all different tracking shots such as pans and dolly track shots. The transitions and cuts through out the video are fast paced and the jumps between each cut are quick. The cuts change to random things through out the song and only half way through does the cuts start making sense. The cuts jump from a scene of the location to the artist to the instruments and vice-versa.

Spaceship- Dappy and Tinchy Stryder

In this music video the cuts are quick and the video over all has a fast pace to it. A tracking shot is used, it is a performance and narrative based video. Close ups are shown of Dappy and Tinchy Styder often, Long shots, showing scenery and setting are also shown.
